Message of the Chairman, Medical Education Department

Dear Students!

It gives me great pleasure to write this message for the new prospectus of Peshawar Medical College, now entering its third year of life. It is needless to say that this great institution has already achieved wide spread recognition in its infancy and its future looks very bright. It will not be out of place to put a few questions to the candidates hoping to enter Peshawar Medical College. If you have not answered these questions already, you should do so in your own interest.

  1. Have you made sure that you want to become a medical doctor out of your own choice based on your own interest and liking and not because you have been pressurized or influenced by some one?
  2.  Have you met any senior doctor to find out what are the commitments, obligations and responsibilities of a doctor and what are the disadvantages, difficulties, sacrifices and sufferings in the practice and pursuit of Medical Profession and are you prepared to accept these?
  3. Have you thought about the years and resources required for completing medical education and that you and your family are ready for it?
  4. Have you talked to any senior medical student or a fresh medical graduate to get first hand information about what you have to go through in medical studies and are you ready for it?

If your answers to the above questions are in the yes and you still wish to apply, I can predict that you will make a good doctor and I shall pray for your success.

Remember that the motto of Medical Profession is service to humanity based on the Qur’anic commandment that,

“IF YOU SAVE ONE LIFE IT SHALL BE AS IF YOU HAVE SAVED THE ENTIRE HUMANITY
