Department of Medical Sciences - Riphah International University (Peshawar Campus)
Department of Medical Sciences is the oldest among the component departments of Riphah International University-Peshawar Campus.
The institute has been established with objectives of contributing towards the quality medical education in line with community health needs of KP & Pakistan. The aim is to train excellent medical doctors, having highest standards of professional competence, integrity, commitment and research.
Department of Medical Sciences is recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC). According to the 2024 inspection visit by PM&DC of various public & private sector colleges, it was our honour to stand first among private hospitals of KP with more than 80% score.
The institution is managed by a “Board of Governors”; which comprises of highly dedicated professionals & qualified academicians.
The institution has opened its portal for Local, overseas Pakistani & students from other nationalities particularly from brother Muslim countries, regardless of color, creed gender, ethnicity and religion.
The Department of Medical Sciences – Riphah International University (Peshawar Campus) aspires to produce medical graduates with the following minimum attributes:
- In-depth knowledge of basic medical sciences.
- Good clinical acumen, coupled with capacity to handle local problems by promoting appropriate solutions.
- An ability to deal with emergencies and be able to deliver satisfactory services under pressure and increasing workload.
- An ability to apply information technology in conducting research and evaluation.
- An ability to take holistic approach to understand patients and their diseases, with due emphasis on biological, psychological & social correlates.
- Commitment to ethical values in the context of medical issues.
- Be able to be effective community leaders.
Location of College Campus
The campus is located on Warsak Road, which takes off Jamrud Road near St. Mary's school. The campus has a lush green sprawling campus that spreads over an area of 25 kanals. It consists of administrative offices, teaching complex, libraries, laboratories, and cafeteria. Excellent facilities of indoor and outdoor games are available.
The campus is easily accessible from the cantonment railway station, the city main bus terminal and the Peshawar International Airport.
Warsak road is a dual carriage road, with public buses plying on it, throughout the day and late night. There is a local shopping center adjacent to the campus, while the main shopping mall of Saddar is at a close distance. Shaheed Khan stadium on Jamrud road, Warsak dam, and Michini riveria on Kabul River, are at the doorstep of the campus and are popular recreation sites.
Hostel accommodation for girl's students is available on campus.
